I got my first G-Shock as a gift in 1980 when I was still in high school. It was a bit of a novelty at the time. Took it to Africa and back, twice. Banged it against tables and walls when people asked, "Is that thing really as tough as they say?". I went through 3 straps, but 20 years later (that' s not a typo) when the casing around the watch itself finally cracked off, it was STILL RUNNING ON THE SAME BATTERY. No kidding. I' ve still got it in a box somewhere. The battery is dead now, but the legend of this incredibly durable, useful watch was by then well made. Recently, a terrific aluminum Swatch I was using deteriorated, and i needed another capable work piece. I was thrilled that Casio was still making these, even if they' re no longer made in Japan. I' m so happy with this one. If you' re looking for a watch that can really take a beating and just grin at you, this is the one. Enjoy. | | Was this review helpful to you?
