| 4.0 out of 5 stars Looks trump function, July 18, 2010 | | By Peter R. Longini | This review is from: G-Shock Men' s Watches G-Shock GA-100A GA-100A-9ADR - WW (Watch) This is the coolest looking watch I' ve ever worn. It looks like the instrument panel of a fighter plane. But the designers made some odd choices regarding the display. Most important of these is that the watch does not display the date -- which is one of the few timekeeping functions that I regularly make use of. It shows the day of the week, which is nice, but instead of using one of the two digital data windows for a normal calendar function, it displays the same time, in digital form, which is being shown on its analog hands. And instead of a sweep second hand, it uses the bottom half of the other window, where the day of the week is displayed, to show the seconds in digital form. And even then, you need to hold the watch at just the right angle to the light in order to read the yellow-on-black digital displays. So I' d give it very high marks on appearance, but a lower grade on function. | | Was this review helpful to you?
